A Llttle Wine to Fight Cancer
Wine Tasting to Benefit the Jimmy Fund, Sept. 22
Sipping wine will promote good health at a wine tasting event to benefit the Jimmy Fund on Thursday, Sept. 22, at Chris Gasbarro's Fine Wine and Spirits on Route 6 in Seekonk. Tickets are $33 and the event begins at 6:30 p.m. Raffle tickets can also be purchased for prizes that include four Patriots tickets donated by Dunkin' Donuts.
Tickets will be sold at the Greenwood Inn in Warwick, R.I., as well as J & J Jewelers in Fall River, Mass.
The event is being organized by the Jimmy Fund Council of Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. Jimmy Fund Councils are groups of dedicated volunteers who act as ambassadors in their communities for the Jimmy Fund, which raises money for cancer research and care for children and adults at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. The councils host fundraising events and promote the Jimmy Fund to support its mission of raising the chances of survival for cancer patients around the world. Dunkin Donuts, a long-time sponsor of the Jimmy Fund, has been a generous local supporter of the Jimmy Fund Council of Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts.
