Help Lick Cancer at the Verizon Jimmy Fund
Scooper Bowl® June 7, 8, and 9
There is a lot to like at the Verizon Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl. The nation's largest all-you-can-eat ice cream festival, which will take over Boston's City Hall Plaza, June 7, 8, and 9, features plenty of frozen treats and a chance to help a good cause — the fight against cancer.
Part festival, part fund-raiser, the 23rd annual Scooper Bowl serves up ice cream from 10 of the nation's leading ice cream companies, offering 40 different flavors at all times. Tens of thousands area residents, business people, tourists, children, and families will enjoy contests, live music, games, and eating ice cream while raising money for the Jimmy Fund. Over the past 22 years, the Scooper Bowl has raised more than $1 million for the Jimmy Fund, which supports cancer research and treatment at the world-renowned Dana- Farber Cancer Institute. Jimmy Fund event organizers expect to raise more than $100,000 during this year's annual ice cream celebration.
This summer's line-up includes ice cream from Baskin-Robbins, Ben & Jerry's, Brigham's, Cold Stone Creamery, Élan, Edy's Grand Ice Cream, Garelick Farms, Good Humor/Breyer's, Häagen-Dazs, H.P. Hood, and Kemps.
The Scooper Bowl takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on each of the three days. Admission is $7 for adults, $3 for children ages 3-10, and free for children younger than 3. For more information, call (800) 52-JIMMY or visit www.jimmyfund.org or www.scooperbowl.org.
