Stop & Shop
Triple Winner Program
2010 dates to be determined

In 2009, the Stop & Shop Triple Winner Program gave eager shoppers throughout the Northeast something to cheer about, as they raised $2.5 million for Dana-Farber’s fight against pediatric brain tumors. From April 10 through July 9, Stop & Shop customers took part in the 19th annual promotion by giving $1 to the Jimmy Fund, and, as thanks, received an instant-win scratch card good for free items, coupons, gift cards, or cash prizes of up to $10,000. Patrons could also double their luck with the program’s "2nd Chance Sweepstakes," in which previously scratched tickets were entered into a drawing for unclaimed prizes of more than $500.

Co-sponsored by the Boston Red Sox, the Triple Winner Program started in 1991 and has raised more than $40 million since its inception for the Stop & Shop Family Pediatric Brain Tumor Clinic at Dana-Farber, the most comprehensive research and care center for pediatric brain tumor patients in the country. This program also provides children with in-depth intellectual and emotional support to help them adapt to their lives post-treatment.

“It is inspiring to see the medical advances and positive outcomes this program is helping to produce,” says Stop & Shop President and CEO Carl Schlicker. “On behalf of the Stop & Shop family and our customers, we are all honored to have a hand in making this happen.”

“Stop & Shop’s partnership with Dana-Farber has enabled us to build the premier program in the world for research and treatment of pediatric brain tumors,” says Mark Kieran, MD, PhD, director of Pediatric Medical Neuro-Oncology at Dana-Farber. “Without the company’s steadfast support, the significant advances we have accomplished in cancer biology, drug design and delivery, and the care and treatment of children with brain tumors would not have been possible.”

With your support, Stop & Shop and the Jimmy Fund are putting cancer out of business.
