New Stars for Young Stars

Presented by the Jimmy Fund Council of Greater Boston, this Boston Red Sox autograph-signing event provides a unique and memorable opportunity to meet and greet some of the newer Red Sox players, as well as many of the up-and-coming minor league players from the Red Sox organization.
Before the event opens to the public, the players make the day extra special for Jimmy Fund Clinic patients and their families by privately signing autographs, bowling, and playing pool with the kids.
The 2009 event welcomed the following players:
- Justin Masterson
- Michael Bowden
- Chris Carter — Red Sox outfielder
- Lars Anderson — 2008 Red Sox Minor League Player of the Year
- Daniel Bard — 2008 Red Sox Minor League Pitcher of the Year
- George Kottaras — Red Sox catcher
- Josh Reddick — SoxProspects.com #3 ranked prospect
- Jason Place — Red Sox 2006 first round draft pick
- Richie Lentz — SoxProspects.com All Star
- Special Guest Terry Francona
Since 2006, New Stars for Young Stars has raised more than $90,000 for the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
