Spokesperson Jon Lester
The 2009 Rally Spokesperson is Red Sox ace pitcher and cancer survivor Jon Lester, who notes the special nature of this event.
"Not everyone can be at Fenway Park for the home opener," says Lester, "but this is a great alternative for fans to be part of the excitement and to show support for my two favorite home town teams, the Red Sox and the Jimmy Fund."
The Rally Against Cancer is a great way to build office and school spirit. Each team designates a coach, who helps build the roster and tracks the teams fundraising total.
"As a cancer survivor, I know first-hand how life-changing cancer can be for patients and their families, and the important work Dana-Farber is doing to further cancer care and research," says Lester. "Rally Against Cancer is an easy and fun way for everyone to help the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber give hope to the people who are fighting this disease."
